The Scroll and Triangle Club was formally organized in October 12, 1921 by C.W Carlson, D. Goedhart, Robert S. Mayo, Benjamin F. Morrison, H.W Munday, and L.T Smith. These men felt that the ideals of fellowship which they sought could be more perfectly realized and congeniality and genuine friendship made more essential by forming a local fraternity. The group was installed as the Armour Chapter of Triangle Fraternity in 1923. The Armour Chapter was the first to receive Rattle I from the Iowa Chapter. In 1940 the Armour Institute of Technology merged with Lewis University, a university located on Chicago’s Westside. The two universities consolidated on Armour’s Southside campus and changed the institution’s name to the Illinois Institute of Technology. Despite the university’s name change the Armour Chapter has kept its original founding name in homage to the chapter’s rich history.
