In 1922 a group of engineering students at the University of Marquette founded a society known as Knights of the Slide Rule (KSR).  KSR was originally founded by four friends who felt there was a place on Marquette’s campus for additional fraternal recruitment in the fields of engineering.  In 1925 the Knights of the Slide Rule changed their name to Gamma Theta Pi although the group’s alumni board continued to use the KSR name – a tradition still carried on today.  In the spring of 1937 Gamma Theta Pi became a chartered member of Triangle Fraternity and became known as the Marquette Chapter of Triangle Fraternity.
