Program Overview

As with most fraternal organizations, academic achievement serves as a core value and founding principal of Triangle Fraternity and should be a primary focus for both the chapter and the individual.

While it is acknowledged that Triangle chapters and colonies have a myriad of membership responsibilities it is important to recognize the most important responsibility to not only Triangle, but to self, chapter and community: academics.

The Triangle Education Foundation with the generous  support of the Kahlert Foundation will recognize chapter & colony academic achievements annually in two categories; Outstanding Academic Excellence and Most Improved Academic Excellence.

Chapters and colonies will be awarded annually at National Convention or the Herbert Scobie Leadership School based on the academic data that is submitted via TriangleConnect. The Academic Reporting Form must be submitted by June 30th.

Outstanding Academic Excellence Award

The award for Outstanding Academic Excellence will be awarded to the chapter or colony with the highest chapter grade point average. This average will include all active and new members and should be an average of all terms in a given year. This data must be submitted by June 30th via the Academic Reporting Form.

Additionally, a chapter/colony must be in good standing with both the University and National Fraternity to be eligible for this award.

  • The chapter/colony with the highest GPA will be awarded $2,000.00
  • The chapter/colony with the second highest GPA will be awarded $1,000.00
  • The chapter/colony with the third highest GPA will be awarded $500.00

Most Improved Academic Excellence Award

Academic excellence is important, but what may be more important is the continuous efforts made by chapter members to improve. The award for Most Improved Academic Excellence will be awarded to the chapter who has experienced the greatest improvement in their chapter grade point average based on a two-year span. This average will include all active and new members and should include all terms in a given year. This data must be submitted by June 30th via the Academic Reporting Form.

Additionally, a chapter/colony must be in good standing with both the University and National Fraternity to be eligible for this award.

  • The chapter/colony with the most improved GPA will be awarded $1,500.00
