Joe Cerrato os05
Nomination for National President
Joe Cerrato currently works for KeyBank as the Digital Portfolio Management Group Leader managing the business intelligence reporting and data analytics capabilities for the Digital Enterprise as well as managing the Digital sales channel. Previously, he worked in the Enterprise Lean Six Sigma group improving processes in fraud, mortgage, contact center, and new customer origination.
Previous to KeyBank, Joe worked for 5 years with the Poirier Group as a Senior Consultant managing projects across North America in Retail Sales and Services, Customer Packages Goods, and Manufacturing. Joe has also had prior work experience in frozen food manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, and waste removal industries.
Joe graduated with his M.S. and B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from OSU in 2010 and 2008, respectively. Joe enjoys time with his wife, Pooja, 2-year-old son, Niam, and dog, Bailey.
His goals are to develop a balanced scorecard that provides an overall health of the organization. This would serve as a function of reporting progress towards our strategic goals as One Triangle to set us up for our next strategic plan. He would also like to manage a National calendar that helps govern our annual activities and requirements. This would help ensure the Council is meeting its obligations to their constituents in a timely and effective manner by driving agenda content, sub-committee activities, and Council work-back plans. Finally, he would like to drive the overall financial health of the organization through significant active growth and alumni VNAD’s.

John Cottage ps04
Nomination for National Vice President
John joined the Penn State Chapter of Triangle in the Fall of 2003 and was initiated in the Spring of 2004. While at Penn State, John served as the Undergraduate President in 2007 leading the chapter in its celebration of the Centennial. After leaving Penn State John stayed actively involved with the Alumni Board and was honored to serve as Alumni President from 2010 to 2014. In 2014 John accepted a nomination to serve on National Council. While on council John has served on different formal committees and ad-hoc committees, including the Executive Director search and approved courses.
Right out of school, John created a web page development company with another brother from his chapter. In 2009 John took a job working for a regional high school doing desktop support and systems administration. In 2011 John transitioned into the role of Network Administrator for the Bergen County School District. In 2013 John was promoted to Network Architect.
In 2017 John left public service and joined the IT consulting firm CDI, LLC. He now specializes in WAN, Data Center and Network Security design.
His goals are to further our expansion in STEM-based programs to develop more balanced men that will lead us to a brighter future. This is only possible by properly leveraging experienced staff and advisers.
Bradley Keller neb69
Nomination for National Councilman (Two-Year Term)
Brad was initiated into the Nebraska chapter in 1969 and is a retired Mechanical Engineer since 2014, living in Beatrice, Nebraska. Most of Brad’s professional career was in the nuclear power industry.
As an undergrad, Brad served as activities chairman, secretary, and rush chairman. Brad was also the first full-time summer recruiter for his chapter where they had 19 new members pledge in the summer of 1972.
Brad was the first actively involved Alumni President for the Nebraska Chapter in 1976 and was re-elected to the Board of Directors 19 times. As an alumnus, he was a de facto recruiter and helped to pledge around 50 men from 1975 to 1982.
Brad has attended every National Convention since 1977 except for 1997 and 2013 and has attended most Leadership Schools since 1978. He has visited every current Triangle chapter, and most former chapters, and has performed more than a dozen official chapter consultations. During the 1980s and 90s, Brad served as Triangle’s extension director and participated in the start-up of Michigan Tech, TAMU, UTA, UConn, and NIU and led the role in the founding of Akron.
Brad served as a member of the Toledo Alumni Board of Directors in 2000-2004, was the New Housing Project Coordinator for the Nebraska Chapter in 2001-2003, the Nebraska Alumni Treasurer from 2008-2018 and led the recolonization of the Nebraska colonization in 2016-2018.
Additionally, Brad has served as a National Councilman from 1979-1981, 1992-1994 and currently since 2017.
As the author of, “The Centennial History of Triangle”, Brad’s goals are to continue his efforts to update “The Centennial History” to bring it to the current status of our fraternity and see to it that each chapter gets a copy. Additionally, he will continue his involvement in the expansion by visiting all of our current colonies and be serving as a mentor to some of the smaller chapters in his area of the country. He also commits to offering his historical perspective to National Council meetings.
Bryley Murphy ky12
Nomination for National Councilman (One-Year Term)
Bryley is currently a high school math teacher living in Columbus, South Carolina. This will be his fifth year in the classroom, teaching Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus. Bryley initiated with the Kentucky Chapter in 2012 and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in STEM Education and Mathematics. He then received his Masters of Education in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina in 2017.
Bryley’s goals as a councilman would be to continue to establish Triangle’s role in post-secondary education. He firmly believes that Triangle’s unique place at the intersection of STEM and social learning provides unmatched resources for our young men in the transition to their undergraduate careers. Bryley would cherish the opportunity to work with our undergraduates, alumni, and staff to shepherd Triangle into our next era.
Alongside working to build the vision for Triangle, Bryley sees his background as an educator serving him well in growing our educational programs and resources. He believes our men join Triangle because they seek training, not only in running an effective organization but in being effective people; they want to become adults they are proud of. This “social-emotional” education, through discussion, training and mentoring is something that Bryley has brought both to his classroom and to our Actives, through outreach, LTW, and Scobie. As a councilman, Bryley would support programs and mentoring that helps our actives to find their inner servant leader, gain empathy, and learn how to hold themselves and others to the standards Triangle asks us to aspire toward.

Merle Newlon lou73
Nomination for National Councilman (Two-Year Term)
Merle was initiated at the Louisville Chapter in May of 1973. He served as the active secretary, treasurer, and president. Merle attended several regional workshops and the National Convention in 1975. In 1984, he was elected secretary of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Area Triangle Alumni organization and assisted in the startup of the UTA interest group.
In 1985, Merle was invited by National Council to attend the 1985 National Convention to participate in the National Council Representative/National Service Volunteers Training Program and was then appointed to serve as National Council Representative to the UTA Colony. in 1986, Merle received the first Outstanding Alumnus award presented by the newly installed UTA Chapter.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, Merle assisted in supporting the development of the Texas A&M Colony/Chapter. In 1988, he was elected as a member of the National Council for a two-year term and was re-elected in 1990.
In October 1990, he accepted the position of Interim Executive Director. In 1991, he was nominated for Vice President but declined to stay on as Associate Executive Director. He was then appointed as National Secretary and Triangle REVIEW Editor where he stayed until 1998.
In 1991, he was awarded the Triangle Service Key. In 1994, he applied for the first domain account on the Internet and triangle.org was born.
In 1998, he was elected as National Vice President and in 2000, National President.
In 2016 he rejoined National Council and has been on it ever since, serving on the Standards and Ritual Committees.
Merle’s Goals for Triangle is to continue to ensure that the Council has an excellent understanding of Triangle’s mission and purpose and to work effectively with staff to see that those are carried out. Additionally, Merle wants to ensure that our operations provide a positive fraternal experience through brotherhood and leadership development programming and activities. Furthermore, he would like to continue to strive to work with council to make sure that they are communicating effectively with both active and alumni membership.
Other goals of Merle’s include: making appropriate decisions as part of Council financial responsibilities; through Council oversight, our volunteers and staff can work to promote our values. Specific National programs such as Herb Scobie Leadership School., LTW, and National Convention are currently our best vehicles for member development; Listen to feedback from staff about their interaction with members and work to provide resources for them as necessary and available; To be present at chapters whenever appropriate and possible for member interaction.
As a councilman, Merle will support Triangle with gifts of his time, presence, and money. Will work as a Council member with duties as assigned to him and the obligations for his committee work. Will be a willing listener. Will continue his work on getting historical taped recordings of our Founders moved to digital media and share them as appropriate. Will represent the National Organization where needed at events and activities. Will demonstrate Triangle’s values and ethics through his words and actions. Will offer historic reflections on where Triangle has come from but work in our current environment.

Nomination for National Councilman (Two-Year Term)
Pete graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering in 1994. He currently works at Allied Mineral Products, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio where he is the Global Technical Manager for application and design engineering. Allied Mineral Products is a world leader in the design and manufacturer of refractory and refractory shapes for the foundry, steel, and related industries. Allied has over 900 employees globally and 14 manufacturing facilities, with headquarters and primary manufacturing operations located in Columbus, Ohio.
As an active member, Peter served as active vice president from 1992 to 1993. Additionally, he served his chapter as Alumni President from 2009 to 2017.
Pete has served on National Council since 2017. His goals for Triangle are to continue to work with Triangle National Council, the Triangle Building & Housing Corporation and the Triangle Education Foundation to continue the mission of One Triangle, which utilizes the resources of the three organizations to maximize the support of active and alumni members. He would also like to improve the available services to our existing chapters while continuing selective expansion to bring new active organizations at great universities into the fold. Finally, Pete wants to support the expanded rollout of the National Council chapter outreach program.

Richard (Dick) Beaubien, PE mich64
Nomination for TBHC Director (Five-Year Term)
Richard is the Managing Director at Beaubien Engineering and was previously Transportation Department Head at Hubbell, Roth & Clark Consulting Engineers for more than 20 years.
He received his bachelors and masters degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan. His employment experiences include five years as a Highway Engineer with the Federal Highway Administration and fourteen years as the Transportation Department Head for the City of Troy, Michigan.
He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Florida, and California. He has been certified as a Professional Trafic Operations Engineer and A road Safety Professional by the Transporation Certification Board in Washington, D.C. He is a Past International President of the Institute of Transporation Engineers. He received the Institutes Marsh Award for Distinguished Service.
He is a past President of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan, and he received their Outstanding Service Award. He chairs the Southeast Michigan Regional Transportation Operations Coordinating Committee.
His Triangle experience includes service as undergraduate and alumni President at the Michigan Chapter. He has served on the National Council and as Triangle National President. He has been awarded the Triangle National Service Key. He has served on the Triangle Building and Load Fund, and he currently serves as Chairman of the Triangle Building and Housing Corporation.
