Triangle has a new chapter! The University of Washington Colony had their Petition for Charter approved during the monthly National Council conference call Sunday, December 8 by unanimous vote.
The colony has selected the weekend of March 28/29 for its Installation ceremony and celebration. Information will be provided to chapters and Seattle area alumni as details are finalized.
The colony began back in 2015 through the efforts of Matt Jones, who saw a need on campus. Matt made contact with two Triangle alumni – Sam Karp ucla10 and Tom Speca pur05 – who provided him information on Triangle and encouraged his efforts.
Over several semesters the group grew slowly, but began to take off in 2017 when they achieved a membership of 20 men and were officially recognized as a Triangle Colony. Since then, they have grown to over 40 men, secured housing and met the requirements of a Triangle charter. As stated in the Council meeting materials…
“They also have worked closely with the Fraternity, Foundation and Building & Housing Corp, taking advantage of resources each offers for group success. Their efforts resulted in a Building Better Men award among the new/young groups. In many ways they exceed the performance of a good number of our existing chapters.”
We look forward to welcoming our newest chapter into the fold in March. Watch for additional announcements and information on their Installation weekend. This event will provide a broad opportunity for our chapters and alumni to participate in the celebration!
