Triangle Fraternity mourns the loss of Brother Charles S. Barbour III ps43 who joined Chapter Eternal on September 6, 2017 at age 94. He passed away peacefully in Titusville, Florida at the nursing home where he has lived for several years.
A recipient of the Triangle Service Key, Brother Charlie served Triangle as Executive Director from 1978 to 1985 and as Executive Director of the Triangle Education Foundation from 1985 to 1989. He was a member of Triangle’s National Council from 1978 to 1986 and was recognized by Triangle Education Foundation as a Director Emeritus in 1990.
After Penn State University, Charlie served his Country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He settled in Toledo after the war and worked at the University of Toledo and later at Champion Spark Plugs.
He is survived by sons, Jeffrey and Richard; grandsons, Charles S. Barbour V and Steven Orr Barbour; and four great-grandchildren. Preceding him in passing were wives Virginia Orr Barbour and Lois Hodgson Barbour.
