LTW WRAP UP AND THANK YOU!

Triangle hosted Leadership & Training Weekend (LTW) from January 14-16, 2022. Thanks to all alumni, volunteers and staff who helped make the event a success, and to all students who participated! We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we made a quick shift to an all-virtual event on a brand new platform – Zoom Events.

Overall, everything went great! Here are some quick stats on the weekend:

  • Total Student Participants: 95 (almost 10% of our current undergraduate population!)
  • Volunteer Facilitators and Guest Speakers: 26
  • Chapters Represented: 28
  • Total Educational Hours: 764 (average of 8 hours of education/training per student)
  • Total Prizes awarded: 43 (35 individual; 8 chapter prizes)

A special shout-out to the six chapters who had a member in every track for every session:

  • Louisville
  • Michigan State
  • Minnesota
  • Ohio State
  • Penn State Behrend
  • Toledo

Thanks again to all for helping make LTW 2022 a success! Look for information soon regarding additional opportunities for education and brotherhood during the Spring term.

TIGHTROPE RISK EDUCATION UPDATE

The deadline for Tighrope completion for Fall members is now February 28, 2022. We are pushing back four weeks to allow extra time for chapters to comply. We had some delays on making online dashboards ready so chapters can monitor member completions. Additional information was sent to chapter presidents this week. Every member must complete the Tightrope Full Course once, then a “Refresher” course each year after. Full completion by members keeps our insurance rates stable in a volatile fraternity insurance market. Download instructions on how to access Tightrope below.

FOUNDERS DAY 2022 – PLAN NOW

Is your active or alumni chapter planning a Founders Day event this April? If so, please share your information. We will add your event to our webpage and can help you in planning, promoting and even with event registration. Add your event information at https://www.triangle.org/alumni/fdays/. Every chapter/region should plan some opportunity to bring members together to celebrate 115 years of Triangle Brotherhood! Contact us at hq@triangle.org if you need ideas or assistance in planning your event.

WELCOME MORGAN BRICKLEY!

Triangle is very excited to welcome Morgan Brickley to our staff as the new Director of Leadership Programs. Morgan has worked as a campus-based fraternity and sorority advisor at both the University of Louisville and Northern Illinois University, and as a headquarters professional at Delta Zeta Sorority. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, for whom she is a long-time volunteer; and she also volunteers in various capacities for Delta Gamma Fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and Delta Zeta Sorority.

In her role at Triangle, Morgan works closely with the Council Education Committee as the primary staff member responsible for creating, delivering, and assessing the Fraternity’s online and in-person educational programs and events, including FHSI and risk management educational resources. Contact her regarding anything related to educational initiatives, programs or needs at morgan@triangle.org.

TRIANGLE CONVENTION 2022

Triangle’s 2022 National Convention will take place July 7-10 in Orlando, Florida at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. Active and Alumni chapters should start now to plan for their delegates to attend. Each chapter pre-pays for delegates through your annual Chapter Fee. Active chapters are entitled to two undergraduate delegates and alumni chapters to one. Upon arrival, delegates are covered for three nights of shared room and event registration costs (which include most meals), but travel to the event is the responsibility of the chapter/delegate. More details will come when online registration opens, but work now to identify your delegates and to put funds aside to help them travel to the event.

Special room rates are available three days before and after the weekend, in case anyone wants to add dates for vacation purposes. Orlando is home to some of the best amusement parks in the world, as well as golf and great restaurants – and isn’t far from Florida’s Space Coast. For families, consider coming out early for the Fourth of July and staying through Convention.

CHAPTERSPOT TRIANGLE PORTAL

Chapter leaders may be noticing the upgrades to ChapterSpot’s Triangle Portal. We’ve been working closely with the company to improve the user experience and add features. ChapterSpot is the member interface with our Salesforce database to keep chapter and member information up to date and to provide access to Triangle information and resources – some of which are not suitable to make available on our public website.

All students should take time to activate their account and update their personal profile information. This makes sure you receive information pertinent to you. Chapters can update rosters and officer roles, as well as access files such as the approved courses for membership on your specific campus, or officer and program guides. ChapterSpot also will soon become the single sign-in for access to chapter accounts with GreekBill, Tightrope, PhiredUp and other partner programs. For more information on how to access or use ChapterSpot, contact us at hq@triangle.org.

From the Desk of Rhonda…

  • Spring NAF invoices will be on their way shortly. Approximately two weeks later, the Spring NEF invoices will be emailed. Both of the invoices necessitate quick response in either membership updates and or payment, so be watching for them to arrive in your email inbox.
  • For those chapters planning Spring initiations, be sure to read the guidelines on fees (HERE) in order to avoid late reporting and payment penalties.
  • March is just around the corner and the second half of the Chapter Fee will be invoiced on or around the 15th of the month.
  • For questions about chapter accounts, balances or billings, contact Rhonda Halcomb at rhonda@triangle.org

REPORT YOUR FALL SUCCESSES!

With Fall 2021 behind us, chapters should report grades and charitable efforts for the term, so we can log this information for awards and recognition. We have an online form to help here – https://www.triangle.org/gradereport/ – or you can forward your campus grade reports to us at hq@triangle.org. Many campuses provide a Greek system grade and/or philanthropy report you can send to us or upload at the web page above. Please make this a priority to get done before the end of February.
